A Seem at Dan Bricklin's Invention of VisiCalc and its own Impact

Dan Bricklin

Overview

Like many computer system pioneers, Dan Bricklin

grew frustrated with just how things were. In 1978 he invented VisiCalc,

a straightforward way to do complicated spreadsheets, and the globe beat a way to not

simply his door, but also the entranceway of Apple Computer.

Bricklin was created in 1951 in Philadelphia and was raised in this metropolis where

the Electronic Numerical

Integrator and Calculator (ENIAC) had unveiled the globe to the

computer age. In 1969 he signed up for the Massachusetts

Institute of Technology (MIT) to review mathematics, however in his junior

year he switched majors from mathematics to computer

science. While at MIT he worked well in the Laboratory

for Computer Research, where he helped style an on-line calculator
